Children's Hospital, Nathan

I have visited the Children's Hospital before, but it is extra special when you are invited by a family. Nathan is Chaplain Rourk's grandson. He has Cystic Fibrosis, so he is no stranger to Children's. Nathan's eyes really lit up when Sally, the pet visitor, came in the room. It was so wonderful to get to know Nathan.

Salvation Army Giving Tree

I volunteered at the Salvation Giving tree program at the Southwest Plaza Mall. This is a wonderful program to get Christmas gifts for children who would otherwise go without.

This young lady is only 16 years old, but she thought it was important for her to give a gift to an older child. She was going to use her own hard earned money to buy another child a Christmas present. That's the true spirit of giving!

The Giving Trees were located next to Lorenzo Jewelers. Charles cleaned and polished my crown.

Jingle Bell Run Fort Collins

A bright, early and cold - temperatures in the teens- Saturday at the Jingle Bell Run in Fort Collins. The Jingle Bell run raises money and awareness for the Arthritis Foundation.

There were several Girl Scout Troops on hand to support the event. They even had a pancake breakfast ready for all the runners.

Frosty the snowman certainly loved the temperature. Emily and I clutched our coffee to keep our hands warm. I don't think I actually drank it!

This group was the walkers. I prefer walking to running. It was wonderful to cheer on both groups.

It always amazes me the wonderful people who come out to support these events. This father/son team ran the entire course!
